From a young age, I have always been creative, artistic, and imaginative. I knew I wouldn’t end up in a “normal” job, but I never knew I would end up becoming a hairstylist. The job seemed interesting, I always loved going to the hair salon and the environment seemed like somewhere I would thrive. But honestly, the career scared me, from the science behind the color to the the hectic schedule, I wasn’t sure if it was for me.

After a conversation with a close friend, I decided to look into cosmetology school. Leaving the tour, I knew that this was the path I was supposed to take. I started working at Six Salon in downtown Raleigh. My first two years were assisting my friend and mentor, as well as taking care of the clientele I was building. After year two, I found I had enough clients to stop assisting and start booth renting. This was a great way to still learn but also grow my own business. When coming up on my 5th year, I decided I was ready to branch out into a salon suite. Once I hit 8 years at my salon suite I was ready to move to a more intimate setting. I opened my new salon where I am able to provide small amenities and a comfortable environment for everyone to relax and feel at home.

Starting up and running my own business has been fulfilling in a way I couldn’t have imagined. Taking the artistic freedom of this career into my own hands was exactly what I needed. Over the years I have found that my true calling in the industry is to do a more low maintenance look that doesn’t always need a refresh in 6 to 8 weeks. I like to take care of clients similar to myself. I enjoy getting done up, doing my hair and makeup but most of the time you will find me in a casual outfit, messy hair, and little makeup on. I love to take walks with my 3 pups, I enjoy getting dinner and drinks out with friends around town. I love to travel but I really am a homebody. I dabble in art as an outlet when I am feeling extra creative. I feel lucky to have found a career that I get to be myself and embrace my artistic side.
